The iHeartRadio Music Awards are officially BACK. The 2016 iHeartRadio Music Awards are set to take place on April 3rd, at the historic Forum in Los Angeles, and will be televised live on TBS, TNT, and truTV at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT., as well as simulcast on iHeartMedia stations nationwide, and on the iHeartRadio digital music platform.
In addition to this year’s nominees, iHeartRadio is revealing the first two artists who will be performing live during this year’s awards: Justin Bieber and Meghan Trainor. Justin and Meghan will join a list of performers, including today's hottest acts, first-time duets and collaborations, celebrity guest appearances, all to be announced at a later date. There will also be an exclusive, can't-miss performance by a soon-to-be-named artist that will be simulcast from the Capital One Jamfest, which is part of the March Madness Music Festival taking place in Houston, TX.
Leading this year's iHeartRadio Music Awards nominees is Taylor Swift with 8 nominations! Taylor is up for Song of the Year for "Blank Space," Female Artist of the Year, Album of the Year for 1989, Best Tour for her "1989 World Tour," Best Collaboration for "Bad Blood" featuring Kendrick Lamar, Best Meme-able Moment for her famous "Blank Space" music video, and Best Fan Army thanks to her loyal Swifties.
Not far behind Taylor is The Weeknd, who is up for 6 iHeartRadio Music Awards himself. He is nominated for Song of the Year for "Can't Feel My Face," Male Artist of the Year, Album of the Year for Beauty Behind The Madness, R&B Song of the Year for "The Hills" AND "Earned It," which is also nominated for Best Song from a Movie. The Weeknd is also up for R&B Artist of the Year.
Additionally, Adele, Drake, Justin Bieber, and Ed Sheeran all have five nominations each. This year’s awards feature 31 categories, including some new categories like Best Tour and Latin Song of the Year, among others.
