Fearless (Taylor’s Version)

On last week’s Billboard 200 chart, Taylor Swift scored the biggest week for any album when Fearless (Taylor’s Version),
her re-recording of her 2008 sophomore LP, debuted at No. 1. Fearless (Taylor’s Version) represented the first chart-topping album of its kind, as the reworked version of another album (which also reached No. 1, over a decade ago).
And with its debut, we were able to begin tracking how the new Fearless would affect listenership of the original Fearless.

Swift’s Fearless (Taylor’s Version) slips to No. 2 in its second week on the Billboard 200, with 57,000 equivalent album units earned in the U.S. in the week ending April 22, according to MRC Data.
That’s an 80% drop from its debut week, in which its 291,000 equivalent album units marked the biggest total for any album in 2021.

Meanwhile, the original Fearless earned 5,000 equivalent album units in the week ending April 22.
Fearless earned 6,000 equivalent album units during the previous week, when Fearless (Taylor’s Version) made its debut.
